Terms of Service

Effective 29 October 2026العربيةTürkçe

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Philocoursa. They say what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what happens when something goes wrong. They never take away rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Philocoursa is a product of Blessed Land, established in Egypt.

Who we are and these terms

Philocoursa is run by Blessed Land in Egypt; these terms and our Refund Policy are our agreement with you.

"We", "us" and "our" mean Blessed Land, Nasr City, at the intersection of Abbas El Akkad St. & Mostafa El Nahas St., St. 1, Cairo, Egypt. "You" means the person using Philocoursa. You can reach us at support@philocoursa.com.

These terms apply when you create an account or use Philocoursa. Our Refund Policy, which explains refunds and your right to withdraw from a purchase, forms part of this agreement; our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. When you sign up, we record which version of these terms you accepted and when.

Free beta

Philocoursa is in a free beta: it can change more often than usual.

Philocoursa is in a free beta. Features may change more often than usual, and we fix problems as we find them. Free credits are a gift with no cash value; they never expire while your account exists. Paid credits are not on sale yet, so our Refund Policy applies from the day they are.

Who can use Philocoursa

You must be 18 or older to use Philocoursa.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Philocoursa, and by signing up you confirm that you are. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data, and refund any unused paid credits to the person who paid.

If you use Philocoursa for a school, company or other organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, keep your details accurate, and tell us if something looks wrong.

  • Give accurate details when you sign up and keep your email address current. We use it for verification, password resets and important notices.
  • Keep your password safe. Each account is for one person; don't share it.
  • Tell us straight away at support@philocoursa.com if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account, unless it happens because of our fault or a security failure on our side.
  • If you sign in with Google, Google's terms also apply to that sign-in.

What Philocoursa does, and what AI can't promise

Philocoursa uses AI to build courses; AI can be wrong, so check what it makes before you rely on it.

Philocoursa is an AI course generator. From a subject, a goal, a syllabus file, pasted text or a public link, it plans a course of modules and lessons and builds each lesson with a lesson brief, slides, a handout and a quiz. It can grade quiz answers and give feedback. You can study in the app or download the handout as Word, the slides as PowerPoint and the quiz as PDF.

This content is written by artificial intelligence, using OpenAI's models through its API. Please keep in mind:

  • AI output can be wrong, incomplete, biased or out of date, even when it sounds confident. Review it before you rely on it, teach from it or share it.
  • It is not medical, legal, financial, psychological or other professional advice, and it is not the guidance of an exam board or curriculum body. Ask a qualified professional or the relevant authority when it matters.
  • Quiz grading is AI feedback to help you learn, not an official mark or certificate.
  • Similar requests can produce similar results, so we can't promise that what you get is unique.

We build and run the service with reasonable care and skill, and work to make the output accurate and useful. We can't guarantee that any particular piece of AI output is correct.

Your content stays yours

You own what you upload and what Philocoursa makes for you; we use it only to run the service for you, never to train AI.

"Your content" means what you put in (topics, goals, syllabus files, pasted text, links and quiz answers) and what Philocoursa generates for you (course plans, lesson briefs, slides, handouts, quizzes and feedback).

  • You own your content. We claim no ownership of it. You may use, edit, sell or share what Philocoursa generates for you, subject to the rights of others in material you supplied. To the extent we have any rights in what Philocoursa generates for you, we assign them to you.
  • You give us a limited licence to store, process, display, copy and export your content only to provide Philocoursa to you, keep it secure and meet our legal duties. This includes passing it to our service providers, such as our AI provider, for those purposes. The licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from backup copies kept for a limited time as our Privacy Policy explains.
  • We don't use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider doesn't train its models on content sent through its API.
  • We don't use your content for marketing and we don't make it public. Your courses are private to your account unless you share a download.

You must have the right to upload and use what you put in. Don't upload material you aren't allowed to copy, or other people's personal data you have no right to share. If you are a teacher or trainer and enter information about learners, such as names or answers, you confirm you have the authority to do so and have told them what the law requires.

To report content that infringes copyright or is otherwise illegal, see Copyright and content reports.

Using Philocoursa fairly

Use Philocoursa lawfully, don't try to break it, and don't use it to harm anyone.

You agree not to:

  • upload, request or generate anything illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing or otherwise harmful;
  • request or generate content that sexualises minors. We report it to the authorities where the law requires;
  • pass AI output off as an official qualification or exam paper, or use it to cheat where that isn't allowed;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security, rate limits or credit system of the service;
  • scrape the service, access it with bots, or copy, decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows this;
  • use Philocoursa to build a competing AI product or to extract our prompts;
  • sell, rent, transfer or share your account or credits.

Because Philocoursa uses OpenAI's models, OpenAI's usage policies also apply to what you ask it to generate. You can read them at openai.com/policies/usage-policies. The AI may refuse a request that breaks them.

If you break these rules, we may remove the content concerned and, where it is serious or repeated, suspend or close your account as described below.

Credits, prices and payment

Credits pay for generation, never expire while your account exists, and unused paid credits are refundable for 14 days.

Philocoursa runs on credits. A course plan, a lesson brief, a handout, slides, a quiz and grading a quiz attempt each cost a set number of credits, shown on our pricing page and in the app before you start. New accounts get free credits to start.

How credits work

  • Credits never expire while your account exists.
  • Credits are used once a generation starts. If a generation fails or we can't deliver it, its credits return to your balance automatically.
  • We use free credits first, then paid credits from your oldest purchase first.
  • One exception: if you delete a course or lesson while it is still generating, the credits for that generation are not returned. The app warns you before you delete.
  • Credits are not money. They can't be transferred and have no cash value, except for the refunds in our Refund Policy.
  • Free credits, such as those given at sign-up, are never refunded or exchanged for money.

Buying credits

Paid credits and subscriptions are not on sale yet. When they are:

  • Prices are in US dollars. Where tax applies, the price we show you before you pay includes it.
  • Payments are handled by our payment provider. We don't see or store your full card details.
  • Before you subscribe, we show the price, how often you'll be charged, and that the plan renews automatically until you cancel.
  • You can cancel online at any time in Billing, in as few steps as it took to subscribe. The subscription then stops at the end of the period you paid for, and credits you have received stay yours. We email you a confirmation, and for yearly plans a reminder before each renewal.
  • Each payment, including a renewal, has its own 14-day refund window for its unused credits.
  • On a yearly plan, credits arrive each month. If you cancel, the monthly credits for the year you paid for keep arriving until it ends.
  • We email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.

Refunds and your right to withdraw

  • Unused paid credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase, pro rata: you get back the share of that purchase you haven't used.
  • If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. At checkout you can tick a box to get your credits straight away; by doing so you accept that you can't withdraw for credits you have used. Unused credits stay refundable for the 14 days.
  • Duplicate and fraudulent charges are refunded in full.
  • We pay refunds to your original payment method. For an EU or UK withdrawal, we pay within 14 days of the day you tell us you're withdrawing; for other refunds, within 14 days of approval.

The Refund Policy explains how to ask. Nothing here limits any other refund right the law gives you.

Our service and brand

The Philocoursa app, design and brand belong to us; your content doesn't.

The Philocoursa software, design, templates, name and logo belong to Blessed Land or its licensors. While your account is open, you have a personal, non-transferable right to use the service. Templates and layouts inside your downloads are yours to use with your content. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Philocoursa, and we won't name you without your permission.

Service availability, backups and lost data

We back up every night and fix what goes wrong, but can't promise the service never fails; if your work is lost, you get your credits back.

What we do

  • We take encrypted backups every night, store them away from our main servers, and test that we can restore them.
  • We monitor the service for errors and fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can.
  • We may pause the service for maintenance or security fixes. Where we can, we plan this for quiet times and tell you in advance.
  • We don't promise a particular uptime. The service may sometimes be slow or unavailable.

If something goes wrong

  • After a serious incident we restore the most recent backup. Work saved since then, up to about 24 hours, may be lost.
  • If a generation fails or is lost, its credits return to your balance.
  • If content you generated is lost and we can't restore it, we return the credits you spent on it or let you generate it again for free, without prejudice to your other legal rights.
  • We tell you about significant incidents that affect you, in the app or by email.
  • If an incident affects your personal data, we report it to the data protection authority within 72 hours where the law requires, and tell you directly when it puts you at high risk.

Things outside our control

Philocoursa depends on other providers, including our AI, hosting and network providers. If one of them fails, or an event beyond our reasonable control happens (such as a natural disaster, war, a widespread internet outage or government action), our obligations are suspended while it lasts. We resume as soon as we can. This never cancels a refund or credit return we already owe you.

What we ask of you

  • Keep your own copies of anything important, using the downloads in each lesson. You can also ask us for a full copy of your data.
  • We are not responsible for access through sign-in details you shared or didn't keep safe. Access caused by a failure on our side is our responsibility.

Suspension and closing your account

You can leave whenever you like; we close accounts only for a good reason, and normally warn you first.

You can close your account at any time by emailing support@philocoursa.com from your account's address; there is no in-app button yet. Download anything you want to keep first. We delete your account and content within 1 month, as our Privacy Policy explains, keeping only what the law requires, such as payment records. When you close your account, we refund unused paid credits from purchases made in the last 14 days, as our Refund Policy explains. Other unused credits end with the account.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Philocoursa. Before we do, we tell you what we are doing and why, and give you a fair chance to respond. We skip that advance notice only for serious abuse (such as content sexualising minors or attacks on the service), fraud, or where the law requires it; even then we tell you the reason afterwards unless the law forbids it.

  • If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we will review the decision.
  • If we close your account without cause, or because we stop offering Philocoursa, we refund all your unused paid credits and give you at least 30 days to download your content.
  • If we close it because you broke these terms, unused paid credits are refunded only as the Refund Policy or the law requires.

Terms that by their nature should outlast your account, such as content ownership, liability and governing law, continue to apply.

Our responsibility to you

We answer for our failures within fair limits, and never limit what the law says we can't.

We provide Philocoursa with reasonable care and skill. As a consumer, you have legal rights if a service is not provided as described or with reasonable care, and nothing in these terms affects them.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for:

  • loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these terms;
  • decisions you make by relying on AI output without reviewing it;
  • loss of profit, revenue or business opportunity, if you use Philocoursa for work or business;
  • loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, as described above.

As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims relating to Philocoursa is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD 50.

None of these limits apply to our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • gross negligence or wilful misconduct;
  • anything else the law does not let us limit or exclude, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

We don't ask you to indemnify us.

Changes to the service and these terms

We give you 30 days' email notice of important changes, and you can leave with a refund if you don't agree.

We may add, change or remove features to keep Philocoursa secure, comply with the law, respond to changes from our providers, or improve it. We won't remove something you have paid for without telling you first and offering a fair remedy, such as a refund of unused paid credits.

  • For material changes to these terms, we email you at least 30 days before they take effect and explain what is changing. We give shorter notice only where the law requires it, and we say so.
  • If you don't agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect, and we refund your unused paid credits in full, even after the 14-day refund period.
  • To keep using Philocoursa after a material change, we ask you to accept the new version.
  • Small changes that don't affect your rights, such as fixing typos or updating contact details, apply when we publish them.

Which law applies and how disputes work

Talk to us first; Egyptian law applies, but you keep the consumer protections and courts of the country where you live.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@philocoursa.com. Most issues can be solved quickly.

These terms are governed by the laws of Egypt, and the courts of Cairo, Egypt, can hear disputes about them.

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, which a choice of law can't take away. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and we can bring a claim against you only there.

We don't require consumers to use arbitration, and nothing in these terms stops you from joining a class or collective action where the law allows it. You may also use any consumer dispute body available where you live.

General terms

The remaining legal details, kept short.

  • Entire agreement: these terms and our Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Philocoursa. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
  • Severability: if a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • Transfer: you can't transfer your account or these terms. We may transfer this agreement to another company, for example if Philocoursa is sold, but only after telling you and without reducing your rights. If you object, you can close your account and get your unused paid credits refunded.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • No third-party rights: only you and we can enforce these terms.
  • Language: these terms are written in English, and we provide Arabic and Turkish translations for convenience (machine-translated). The English version is binding; if the versions differ, the English version applies, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
  • Notices: we send notices to your account email or show them in the app. You can send notices to support@philocoursa.com or by post to Blessed Land, Nasr City, at the intersection of Abbas El Akkad St. & Mostafa El Nahas St., St. 1, Cairo, Egypt.
