What you can get back
Unused paid credits, for 14 days after purchase.
For 14 days after a purchase, you can ask for a refund of the credits from that purchase that you haven't used. We refund pro rata: you get back the share of the price that matches the share of the purchase's credits still unused.
We use free credits first, then paid credits from your oldest purchase first.
For example, if you bought 1,000 credits and used 250 of them, we refund three quarters of what you paid for that purchase.
We also refund in full, at any time, a charge that was taken twice by mistake or that you didn't authorise.
What isn't refundable
Used credits, free credits, and purchases older than 14 days.
- Credits you have used. A credit counts as used once a generation it pays for starts.
- Free credits, such as the credits a new account receives. They have no cash value.
- Unused credits from a purchase more than 14 days old. They stay in your account and never expire, so you can still use them.
- Credits for a generation that was still running when you deleted its course or lesson. The app warns you before you delete.
Credits are not money. They can't be transferred to another account and can't be exchanged for cash, except as this policy describes. Some situations below, such as a lost generation (credits back) or an account we close (money back), apply after the 14 days.
If you live in the EU or the UK: your right to withdraw
You have 14 days to withdraw; it ends only for the credits you use.
As a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.
Credits are digital content you can use straight away. So when you buy them, we ask you to tick a box that reads:
“I want my credits now. I understand that once I use credits, I can't withdraw from the purchase for those credits; unused credits stay refundable for 14 days.”
Ticking it means you ask us to deliver the credits immediately, and you accept that your right to withdraw ends for each credit once you use it. Your right to withdraw stays in place for every credit you haven't used, for the full 14 days.
After you buy, we email you a confirmation of your purchase, including the choice you made with this box.
To withdraw, choose “Withdraw from this purchase” on the Billing page, as described in How to ask for a refund, or send us a clear statement by email to support@philocoursa.com. You don't need to use a particular form.
If you prefer, you can copy and send this model form: “To Blessed Land, Nasr City, at the intersection of Abbas El Akkad St. & Mostafa El Nahas St., St. 1, Cairo, Egypt, support@philocoursa.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the purchase of the following credits: [purchase]. Ordered on [date]. Name, address, date.”
Subscriptions
Each payment has its own 14-day window; you can cancel online at any time.
Each payment, including a renewal, has its own 14-day window for its unused credits. Cancel online at any time in Billing; the plan stops at the end of the period you paid for. On a yearly plan, credits arrive each month; if you cancel, they keep arriving until the paid year ends.
Failed or lost generations
If a generation fails or its result is lost, you get the credits back.
When a generation fails, its credits return to your balance automatically. You don't need to ask.
If content you paid for is lost, for example after an incident that we restore from a backup, we give the credits back or regenerate it for free. This doesn't affect any other right you have under the law.
If something went wrong and the credits didn't come back, write to us and we'll put it right.
How to ask for a refund
From the purchase on your Billing page, or by email.
- In the app: open the Billing page and find the purchase. Within 14 days of buying, choose “Withdraw from this purchase”; after that, choose “Request a refund”.
- By email: write to support@philocoursa.com from the address on your account, and tell us which purchase it is.
We may ask a question to confirm the request comes from you. We never ask for your password.
How long it takes
Eligible requests are approved straight away; the money is on its way within 14 days.
Eligible requests are approved straight away; we reply to others within 5 business days. We pay refunds to your original payment method. For an EU or UK withdrawal, we pay within 14 days of the day you tell us you're withdrawing; for other refunds, within 14 days of approval. We remove the refunded credits from your balance at the same time.
Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show the money in your account. We don't charge a fee for a refund.
Chargebacks
Please contact us first; your bank's rights stay yours.
If a charge looks wrong, please write to us before you dispute it with your bank. We can usually fix it faster.
This never removes your right to dispute a charge with your bank or card provider.
When an account closes
Some closures refund your unused paid credits, whatever their age.
When you close your account, we automatically refund unused paid credits from purchases made in the last 14 days. Other unused credits end with the account, and the app shows you how many before you confirm.
We refund all your unused paid credits, whatever their age, if:
- we close your account without cause;
- we stop offering Philocoursa;
- we remove something you paid for;
- you close your account because you object to a material change to our terms or to a transfer of our agreement to another company; or
- we close an account because its owner is under 18 (the refund goes to the person who paid).
If we close your account because you broke our Terms, unused paid credits from the last 14 days are refunded.
Your legal rights
This policy adds to your rights; it never takes them away.
Prices are in US dollars. Where tax applies, the price we show you before you pay includes it. If the law where you live gives you more rights than this policy, for example when a product is faulty or not as described, you keep those rights.
